Delhi Election 2025 Date Live Updates: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has called upon the Election Commission (EC) to take measures against BJP leader Parvesh Verma, advocating for his disqualification from the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal has also requested a search of Verma’s residence to scrutinize his financial dealings. The AAP leader expressed to the EC chairman his apprehensions regarding local election officials allegedly colluding with the BJP, which could jeopardize the election’s integrity. “The current practices may turn the entire election into a farce,” Kejriwal remarked, noting that the EC had promised decisive action to uphold the electoral process.

In response, Verma, the BJP candidate for the New Delhi constituency, asserted that Kejriwal’s comments stemmed from anxiety over the BJP’s electoral prospects in Delhi. He contended that other parties within the INDIA alliance lack substantial support in the city and accused Kejriwal of seeking alliances with parties that have no electoral foundation. He further dismissed the INDIA alliance, pointing out the internal conflicts among its members following the Maharashtra assembly elections.

In the meantime, Kejriwal expressed gratitude for the support of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee, thanking her for endorsing AAP in the elections scheduled for February 5 in Delhi.

A significant electoral contest is emerging in the New Delhi constituency as assembly elections approach.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), who has previously secured victory in this seat three times on an anti-corruption platform, now faces increased challenges in the upcoming election. His reputation as a corruption fighter appears to have diminished among constituents, particularly as he navigates the complexities of being out on bail in a money laundering case. The competition intensifies with formidable opponents, including Parvesh Singh Verma from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Sandeep Dikshit from the Congress party, both of whom are descendants of former Delhi chief ministers.

These former Members of Parliament are determined to unseat the ex-chief minister, as this constituency has become a symbol of prestige for all three candidates.

The constituency, which encompasses some of the most affluent areas of Delhi, is also interspersed with slum clusters that reflect the broader challenges faced by the city and require equitable attention.

Many residents anticipate a competitive race this time, with no clear frontrunners. Others express disappointment over the unfulfilled promises of development in the area.

BJP Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari has stated that Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have consistently shown a lack of respect towards individuals from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. He questioned Kejriwal’s audacity in labeling the residents of these states as “fake,” asserting that the commitments made by Kejriwal and AAP are insincere. Tiwari emphasized that the citizens of Purvanchal will respond on February 5th.

Elections are of utmost importance to us. The BJP is poised to establish a government in Delhi with a significant majority. Arvind Kejriwal has merely presented visions; he has realized his own aspirations rather than those of the people of Delhi.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
